Schedule changes and shear panic!
When I last posted, Air Namibia had cancelled the flight north (and south.)

I am told that the situation with Air Namibia is very bad. My choices are $1400 for a one-way charter north or a 12 hour drive for free. That choice was simple. My butt wasn't doing anything for that 12 hours anyhow.

This was followed in short order by the revelation of the terrorists' threat to airline flights with "liquid" bombs.

I spend a time moving materials from my carry-on to my duffle, which was already at the max weight. I pray that they will be cutting people some slack now that we must put everything-mostly- in the checked baggage.

I am still uncertain how I get back from the north, but my plan as revealed first here on AR, is to shoot the elephant and then move south to shoot Kudu and Damara Dik Dik.

Please hold a good thought for me and mine as I brave I-75, Atlanta traffic, and air transport to Frankfurt and Windhoek. Kudude.

Worry about getting back later -- have a great time first. Good luck with the flights -- I am sure there will be delays and confusion but you are headed in the right direction.

I, for one, am jealous!

What an adventure you have in store! To be headed to Africa and not knowing when or how I would get back home - now that is a life experience, I don't care who you are.

Keep safe and shoot straight.

Best,
Jeff

I too am envious. Have a great time. Kill lots of big stuff and come back and tell all of us the tale. Many are home bound for '06. I am here for the remainder. It will work out. Africa time is what it is. Harraki harraki, hapana baraki or some such. (To Hurry, hurry is not a blessing.)

Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"
