Dear Boha: That is a beautiful gun. You deserve it and it goes well the 455 other rifles you have...
And I´m not a bit jealous!

AtkinsonThat is a typical German Guild gun, made by some unknown little Kraut, in a closet size shop that had the skill to make a perfectly round ball out of a square piece of steel with a worn out file.

The book in your photo. Is it by General von Lettow-Vorbeck? What does the title translate to and who is the publisher?
Thanks.
NitoX,
Yes it is von Lettow-Vorbecks book.
Translation into english: I guess that "Hurray Safari!" is close.
As I understand it, the German Colonial Army used that slogan during peacetime exercises.
I am at work right now
-But I will check who's the publisher is in some 10 hours, the book in the photo is a Swedish translation. I can recommend it! von Lettow-Vorbeck gave the Empire a real headache.
NitroX,
Who has the best prices on Bertarm .333 Jeffery Flanged brass in Australia? Is it Ammodump? I just bought a double in that caliber and needs cases desperatly

Thanks Ray. Is there a Guild stamp or marking, or do you simply see it on the character of it?
Husky, we need to go hunting with these oldies, as soon as I can get a pith helmet and grow a moustache! Bring a 6,5x54MS to fill the pot. Your Miller&Greiss is a gem. A star of Africa.
Boha
boha,
We have to make a plan for "The 9,3x63 African Tour". Our 6,5x54 Mannlichers, .404.rs, yuor .500 and mine .333 Jeffery!
I will email you in the afternoon. You can have some light loads from me to try with before you start up your own loadings.
I think that your rifle has some commonality with mine. Nearly the same Spoon handle - isn't that a Austrian/Bavarian speciality?
Maybe your rifle is made in the South part of The Imperial Deutsche Reich?

Congratulations to your new toy, post some pictures

Ammo dump is in NZ unless Nitrox have been influenced by his old mate Hermann and made it a part of the Aussie Reich
Contact Dieter Horneber for some high quality custom brass, not cheap but much much better than Bertram

NitroXNow now Johan. You will get in trouble with some self-righteous bystander this time instead of me.

von Lettow-Vorbeck was pre-Hermann.
The AmmoDump shifted from Victoria in Australia to NZ about two years ago. I haven't bought from them since then though so don't know. I did buy some brass directly from Bruce Bertram though which he was kind enough to expedite to me plus a box of his new projectiles to try out.
