Turns out the wildcat I did here 20 years ago had made it into Marvel comics. Got sent a link of the below. Venom( one of spidermans enemies) now has his own spin-off and in the comic some other villain called Kraven takes him down( or at least stops his charge) with a shoulder shot from his bolt action 585 Gehringer.

Should I be asking for some sort of Royalties here? Well I only ever tested the gun on scrub bulls( feral cattle in Australia) and it worked very well, but I guess its legal on superpowered alien symbiotes as well.... actually there are some threads running on reddit or whatever saying you need a 585 gehringer class gun to penetrate Venoms skin now, so its the new benchmark for big game villians. I guess it means the 577 Trex, 585 Nyati, 585 Hubel and 600 OK can do the job as well- but maybe not the 577 nitro with its lower velocity
