Texas Blue DevilMountain Buffalo, Which Outfits hunt them??
I recently saw a hunting show on mountain buffalo. That looks like an awesome hunt. All my African hunts have been in Namibia, Botswana and Zim, so I don't know much about Tanzania.
During the coming hunting shows, I'd like to look into a mountain buffalo hunt.
If anyone has recommendations on outfits for this hunt, I would appreciate it.
Thanks!!!
TBD
Go Duke!!

ManuelMReiner Josch would be my choice if I went buffalo hunting in the mountain, he hunts in Mount Losigimor which is inside one of Robin Hurts concessions. The other option would be one of the outfitters that have a concession in Lake Natron that actually have access to a good mountain like Mt. Gelai or Kitumbine I believe TGTs and Kilombero North do that sort of hunts. They are all in northern Tanzania.

Bill CRainer Josch had been to go-to guy at one point, if you search the forum you should find some info and I think at least one hunt report.
Looks like he is still conducting these hunts:
http://www.rainerjosch.com/mountain-buffalo-hunt/He also has several excellent videos.

larryshoresI did it about 20 years ago. it was close to Lake Natron. Wengert-Windrose had the area at the time. I think it is TGT now.

Bwana1Hunted Mt. Monduli with TGTS years ago. Shot buffalo higher than a lot of sheep hunts.

larryshoresI am reasonably certain that Monduli was the same mountain I hunted on.

CanuckIf you want it on the mountain and on foot, then Rainer Josch is your guy. As I understand it, Loosimingoor is in Robin Hurts area now, but Rainer is still doing hunts on the mountain. I was there in 2011. Experience of a lifetime.

Aaron NeilsonYou can do so with Kilombero North Safaris, out of their Lake Natron block. Beautiful place, and great PH's doing the hunts too.
You can come talk to us about it at DSC, they will be with me in our booth.
I plan to do it too with Dean Kendall in the next 1-2 years! I want one of the big leopards on the mtn too!!!

That's stretching my memory. I posted something, but not a full report. I was an observer on "Iceman"'s hunt.

CanuckAll,
I received this clarification from Rainer Josch today...
quote:
Loosimingor Mountain - Robin Hurt Safaris - Rainer Josch:
Since 2013 it is all the same now as Rainer Josch has joined Robin Hurt Safaris and they operate mountain buffalo hunts on Mt. Loosimingor together. Rainer Josch does not guide for Robin Hurt Safaris but operates his Mountain Buffalo Hunts through Robin Hurt Safaris. The partnership is working perfectly and Rainer Josch can now solely focus on guiding his hunts with his team of trackers under the operation of Robin Hurt Safaris.
Rainer Josch and his team of trackers have been exclusively guiding Mountain Buffalo hunts on Mt. Loosimingor for the past 15 years. Just look at the testimonies on his new website
www.rainerjosch.com and you will clearly understand the difference between his mountain hunts and any other mountain hunt for Cape Buffalo.
The new website looks great btw!
