Hornady .458 500 gr. encapsulated solids
This may be old news to some, but I picked up a box of these bullets the other day for load development in my Lott. I have not read anything about them, but was surprised when I opened them, to find that they appeared to have a brass jacket. I decided to section one of them and finally used the bandsaw as the cutoff wheel in the dremel was way too slow. This bullet looks like a well thought out and constructed bullet! The nose section is almost 1/4" thick before it reaches the core cavity, the jacket thicknes on the sides is .090 and the cup that retains the core appears to be swaged in. It would seem that these bullets would be good competition for the Woodleighs in the conventionally constructed solid market. Has anyone had any reports on these from the field?

No problem to use this bullets # 45077.
They are functional the same as the steel jacketed # 4507.
I used it successfully on ele and buff.

I made a second shot on a buff from the rear with one. Exited the downed buff. 'bout all I've got.
