Does anyone on this site have experience with Blaauwkrantz Safaris? I have always wanted to hunt kudu, and they promote their kudu hunting to be the best in the world. All of the references that they have provided have had nothing but positive things to say about them, but as a prospective first-timer to Africa, you can't be too careful.
I have been twice, once alone and again with the family. The Rudmans have lots of land and animals. The Cape kudu is smaller (and prettier?) than the Southern kudu, and the numbers are both high and managed well.
Check the Blaauwkrantz site for Wayne van Zwoll's recent article "Believe It!" for more info.
Having said the above, be advised that with high volume hunting operations trophy preparation and quality can be problematic. (You can search my posts at 'Taxidermy' forum for more.) Will you get a kudu? Probably. Great first safari opportunities!
Feel free to PM me for the nitty gritty. I have two Cape kudu and want a Southern next, along with a big bushbuck.

I've also been to Blaaukrantz....great hunt. Accomodations are top notch, animals are plentiful, and the Rudmans are gracious and friendly hosts. They do have lots of mature Kudu, and have now developed a secondary specialty in offering Bushpig hunts. I'd be sure to hunt for one if I went.

K EvansMy wife and I have been there 4 times and are going back next summer for our 5th trip...we have taken friends with us on two trips. I have taken several Kudu there, two over 50" and have had nothing but good experiences. PM if you want specific info.

CBNHNTRAs previously stated the Rudmans and warm and welcoming hosts and will treat you like guests in their home.
Blaawkrantz supports a large Kudu population within its borders. Our PH Eric was very accomodating guiding my then 12 year old son to a very nice Kudu bull.
They were just starting to get into the bushpig hunting in a big way when I was there and Craig Boddington was due in the week after we left to do some pig hunting.
They also have a BUNCH of bushbuck on the place.
I am sure you will enjoy your stay. Try to spend a day or two in P.E. and do make time for a trip to Addo Elephant park. If you are brinig kids make sure that they get to visit the Cheetah farm.
Regards,
Mario
