24 Hours until departure
We (my wife and I) are within 24 hours of leaving for our first safari to Africa. We are going to LU5 in the Selous.

After two close call with Gustav and Ike we survived intact and the airport in Houston is operating.

We are very excited and a little nervous.

Thanks to everybody on AR for the advice and information to make this trip more enjoyable.

Mike, enjoy. After the past month ya'll have had in the Houston area, a little short hop across should be a piece of cake.

Look forward to report and pics, be safe.

Mike,

I'm always just a little envious of "first-timers"...

Nothing beats the anticipation, and a little case of "nerves" just sharpens your perceptions. I'm sure it will be everything you've imagined, and more...it certainly was for Jane and me.

Every sight will be a revelation, every breath perfume, every sound a symphony. For a true hunter, I think this comes as close to the vaunted "life changing experience" as it gets.

I betting you'll be just a wee bit different when you return. We were...

Have a safe trip and the time of your lives. Photos ARE mandatory upon return!

Mark (who only spent three days off grid power during Gustav!)

Have a great time. Right now it is a curiocity, you aren't sure just what it will be like. Once you've been there it becomes an adiction. Africa is Crack to a hunter.

Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!
