Bizarre that they come down hard on this guy with Out of Africa still looming out there.

It looks like he was tossed for misrepresenting hunts to be fair chase when they were not. Last time I looked, SCI counts any animal as far as its record books go - doesn't matter if it was taken in a fair chase hunt ot not. So, they booted him for "misrepresentation". For a cat hunt in South Africa. The devil is going to be in the details of this one.

He might have deserved what he got or not.

But, I suspect he did not "donate" enough hunts to SCI, hence he got clobbered.

As long as the likes of Out Of Africa are being treated with kid gloves, I sure do not have much faith in SCI and its ethics committee!

Which at the end brings shame on us all as hunters.

after attending the SCI convention for 15 plus years i can tell you that he HAS donated a lot of hunts. sooner or later though the s--t pills up too high to step over and still keep your boots clean.

Cruel or not, Saeed makes a valid point once again. OAA is a black mark against SCI, and by extension all hunters. While I applaud the actions taken against Strydom, it is more than curious that more flagrant violations from Out of Africa go unpunished. And quite apparently it does have something to do with the number of hunt donations. Despicable.
