Jack D BoldFrostie,
I would highly recommend Wayne Grant's
Into The Thorns. The definitive big cat book. If I recall, Wayne recommends the winter months April, May, June. Something about baits lasting longer.
But I suppose it varies from area to area. Check with your prospective PH.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

OldHandgunHunterIt mostly depends on whether you'd rather sweat while you build the blind or shiver while you sit in it. The Leopards don't care all that much.
When you get bored with life, start hunting dangerous game with a handgun.

sandyhunterAt least for the Kafue, I'm told that earlier is better, and anything after August is difficult, due to the increased number of baby animals on the ground and the rise in temperature. I took a very nice cat in the Lunga Luswishi on July 28 this year.

Good advice. Luangwa anytime for a good leopard but Kafue for something extraordinary.
Kafue would be double the price.
