MARK H. YOUNGAndy,
Nobody will even notice the camo. Not a bad idea on the Bug Tamer as the tetses can be savage on the Luangwa.

Mark, I have an old bumper sticker in a picture album that reads "I GAVE BLOOD IN ZAMBIA" and has a picture of a Tsetse fly on one end! The bug jacket would be a good thing to have if it will work on Tsetse flys, also long pants, and long sleeves, are the real deal in the Luangwa!

Dagga BoyI had good luck with Ex Officio's Buzz Off clothing for the tsetse flies. They'd land on it, but not one bite where I was covered. Also, Permanone by Repel was helpful, but didn't last as long in Tanzania as here in the States.
It's supposed to last through washings, but I think they use boiling water or just the scrubbing they give it in camp takes it out. I was good for a few days rather than the expected two weeks.

I was having trouble finding the Bugtamer in stock anywhere.
I just bought her the Ex Officio Buzz Off pants and jacket at their website and they were on sale!
Thanks for the tip!!

MARK H. YOUNGAndy,
We've tried quite a variety of different clothing. The Ex Officio in our expereince is very noisy. So I'd advise bringing some cotton as well particularly pants.
A word to the wise. Get the PH to identify the Buffalo bean for you and stay away from it. It is the nastiest stuff I've ever encountered and can provide long lasting extreme discomfort. I got into a little bit of it on my ankle and it caused me problems for months. If you are plowing through the bush after that 47" buffalo you might go head long into it without knowing it.
