Now I plan to use the same bullet - weight in .375 = 154grs- with a speed of 3700fps! I tested this bullet on red deer and wildboars.

I understand the desire to use something different, however I'm intrigued to know if you think the 8,5x63 Reb with say a 200g TSX would be insufficient for the game you are after this trip?

I have been meaning to get hold of an 8,5x63 barrel if one came up for the right price, hence my question.

I shot my oryx with a 30-06 at 250 yards with a Nosler 180 partition. One shot worked just fine. I took my kudu with my 375 but if I had to do it again, I'd just use my 06 for all plains game. Its plenty with the right bullet up to 300 yards.
But if your set on using your 375.. I like Winchester 760 powder (or H-414) and the Speer 285 gr bullet.. Its has been by far the most accurate bullet I have ever tried in mine..

270 or 300 gr TTSX. No substitute. No equal.

Eland are in general an animal of the bush.
Your PH should be getting you in close and personal to shoot one of these.
I use Winchester 270gr factory loads in my 375. They shoot well in my rifle.

I'm a Swift A Frame fan for my 375 H&H. If I just took one rifle for everything it would be the 375. Ive used the 300 grain A-frame and have taken game out to 300 yds.
