Bill/OregonThank you, Mr. Boddington
I recently traveled to Campbell River, Vancouver Island, B.C., for some pink salmon fly fishing, accompanied by my daughter, Ellie. The fishing trip was part of her Baylor graduation present, although I had to put her on a plane in Nanaimo earlier than I would have liked. Anyway, she had problems with baggage and customs, and then along came a certain American officer and gentleman. Here is part of her e-mail to me:
"Flights back were super rough. They lost my luggage on the Nanaimo flight and then they wouldn't let me through customs without my bag...it was quite a process with a lot of time in a customs holding area. Barely made my flight but sat next to Craig Boddington (also returning from a fishing trip) who saw my rifle target I was using as a bookmark. We struck up a great conversation (he loves that little 7mm-08, it's what his daughters use) about the book he's writing on the history of North American rifles! When I landed in LAX he also had a connecting United flight. We had to switch terminals and leave security and I was pretty sure I was going to miss my next flight until Mr. boddington took me under his wing and let me go through the premium line with him. He was so nice! I wouldn't have made my flight without him!"
Let's just say that as a hunter I was already a Boddington man, but now, much more so as a grateful father.

BigUglyManBut...but...but...for years the Internet has said...oh yeah, the Internet. I forgot.
Craig has always answered my questions when I've posed them to him. Missed him in Chewore by a couple of weeks in 2010. Too bad, though Messrs Dawson and Gibson kept us well entertained.

bwana cecilI once saw him walking quite fast with his head down at the DSC conv. one year & thought how odd that was as any other time I saw him he was friendly.
Probably just needed to go to the john & didn't want to get distracted.
Just like Charlie Brown, he's a good man.
