Advance payment of govt fees in Moz/Ivory Exports
Anyone know how far in advance one has to pay the govt fees on trophies in Mozambique? And when are they likely to allow ivory out?

Russ,

If you're referring to American hunters - The US F&WS won't issue import licences for Mozambican ivory........ Canadian, European & Brit etc hunters have no problem though.

Time delay in export though is very variable and a lot depends on the particular export agent you use..... let me know by e-mail if you need any recommendations for this.... Wink

Russ,

I guy I met in Jo'burg last season has hunted Moz for elephant at least a couple of times. his ivory is being held by his outfitter until he can import it. He said he was working with John Jackson of Conservation Force to get the import approved.

Here's some info at the Conservation Force Website.

You might also email John and see if there is anything new.

Regards,

Terry
