Hi all!

I am looking for your experiences about .375 H&H Federal High Energy 300 grs Trophy Bonded Bear Claw. Have had any trouble with abnormaly high pressure in actual use in Africa? Or another kind of trouble ?

If it`s very warm weather the pressure in the cartridge can increase. I don`t think so, It`s the fact that the Federal loads are hard.
It`s the most possible reason i think of. I`m realoading all of my ammunition in 375 H&H mag and other normal kaliber such 3006 6,5x55, 7mm rem mag, I`v never had any trouble with the pressure, not even in Africa. In Norway we normally hunt in cold weather.And the speed of bullet is a litle bit lower, not much.It have no effect of the pressure at all.

I`v load a lot of 300 grs TBBC in my 375 H&H Mag, with no pressure problems. I`v use this data:
NOTE, ALL REALOADING DATA IS USED AT OWN RISK. MUST BE USED WITH CAUTIONS. START 10% LOWER,
300 grs TBBC
80,0 grs Norma 204 Powder
Federal 215 Primers
Remington cases

Cal 91,0 mm
Velocity 794 Meter/sec Chronographed

Excellent load in my SAko Finnbear

I have used .300 grain .375 Federal High Energy Trophy Bondeds the last 3 years in Africa without nary a problem. I have also used the regular .300 grain .375 Federal Trophy Bondeds and the Sledgehammers without any problems as well.

I have used the HE, 300 Gr. loads in 375 without any problems. I choose to reload all my .375 now, but wouldn't hesitate to use the factory ammo you suggest.

Well, let's see. With the Federal High Energy 300 grain .375's I have personally shot rhino, croc, hippo, kudu, red duiker, livingstone's suni, klipspringer, leopard, sharpe's grysbok, genet, waterbuck, cape buffalo, lion, and roan, to name a few.

Thanks Use Enough Gun, it seems that the caliber 375 gives a lot of if, but as I said in other post strikes me as a size too lightweight for such large animals such as buffalo, elephant, rhino or the hippopotamus. But if I see that the hunter puts his hand the necessary qualities can be a great safari with the old British cartridge.

I have also reloaded almost all my .375 H&H cartridges (and my 7x57 as well).
But I got 4 boxes of Federal HE TBBC at a very good price here (1998 made). I chronographed that load (3 rounds) with an average velocity of 2580 fps in my M 70 Pre-64 with 25 inches barrel. I have never used the TBBC bullets before. I will see.

No, I mean 2580 fps. Almost the same (2560 fps) as the RWS 300 grs TUG factory load.

By the way, I am very happy with that performance !!

Sorry, I failed to notice that it's a 300 grain bullet load.

I bought a box of HE by accident. (I didn't ask for it, but that was all they had.) I gave it back. I couldn't find a reason to buy the HE. I'm surprised it's still available. I figured it was just a marketing "hook".
