No doubt this will impact on some hunting?

If I read this correctly, any hunting, transporting, or interstate commrce of these animals will require a special permit after 7/4/2012. It's enough to make me wish for another Independence Day.

What these animals lovers accomplished is the certain demise of their beloved creatures. This livestock is a cash crop whose value has now been eliminated. No doubt to be replaced by another "crop" with more value.

To all the game ranches, thanks for doing what you do. Sorry for your loss.

so if someone hunts one before this deadline takes effect, Apr. 4, 2012 as I understand it, does that also mean that the a finished mount cannot be sent to the hunter after the fact without all this paperwork?

Something similar happened here when the TOPS Regulations were introduced by that arch wimp, KORT-BROEK, at the instigation of bunny-hugger wanckers. A lot of land owners took the decision just to get rid of the animals concerned. Whole herds of Black Wildebeest ended up as venison products. Frowner

So, does that mean that to hunt these species in the U.S. on game farms you will be required to first obtain a CITES permit? It appears that the game farms will now be required to obtain a permit to continue breeding, etc. Who can give us a definitive answer (before the SCI convention's legal wildlife seminar next month) on this?

How big a problem would it be to sneak the head and capes out of Texas to where ever you live? No customs to go through. Yeah, these are the same kind of people who got all bent out of shape when biologists suggested mixing different subspecies of jaguar together to save the species in places where there were too few of them. Apparently they would rather see them die out in those areas.

This was driven by HSUS and they have made it very clear on this and other similar issues -- they would rather the species disappeared entirely than to permit them to be hunted.

This is totally consistent with all leftists -- no one in the world can be permitted to engage in any activity whatever without advance approval from leftists. They don't approve of hunting and they will expend whatever effort is necessary to eliminate it -- the welfare of the animals is nothing but a means to and end, the end being total control of everyone else.

Liberalism is a mental disease and there is no cure except extinction.

I was having a heated discussion with an English lady who hated hunting.

We were talking about elephants, and she said "I would rat5her see no elephants alive rather than seeing them hunted"

Go figure what sense that makes!
