K EvansDSC Frontline Foundation Announcement
OK, you guys get a "scoop" on an announcement that will be made at the Exhibitor Welcome tonight. A group of DSC members has been working for several months on a much needed project to help injured outfitters and their crews and as a result DSC has formed a foundation to help with medical or other expenses arising from injuries sustained while in the process of guiding hunters and other such activities. This help will be available to outfitters world wide; not just in Africa or North America. The foundation is called the DSC Frontline Foundation and has applied for status as a 501 (c)(3) organization (meaning donations could be tax deductible), the application is still pending but hopefully will be granted soon. Our website should be going "live" sometime today or tomorrow, some additions are being made to the website but it will give you an idea of what the foundation plans to do. Thanks for any support you may be able to give...these guys need all the help they can get.
More to follow,
Karl

Way to go. You know I'll make my contribution, how little it may be.
I really appreciate folks who not only recognize a need and instead of just wringing their hands, go the extra mile and creatively do something positive.
See you tomorrow, brothers Karl and Scott, too!

Richard T. CheathamThe Foundation's email account is not up yet. Banking arrangements should be finalized in the next few days to accommodate electronic donations - please bear with us. Thanks to all for your support and encouragement. If anyone has questions you want to ask privately feel free to pm me or Karl. You will recognize several of our board members. As Karl said, more to come.

MJinesExcellent. Way to lead by example. I do, however, find it interesting that a group like DSC can organize such an effort and organizations ostensibly dedicated to serving professional hunters like PHASA, SOAZ, ZPHGA, etc. have not attempted (to my knowledge) something like this or perhaps the establishment of an insurance program sooner.

Bill CooleyNow, that's a great program. Just hope you didn't use the words Conservitive or tea party in the aplication.

Mike, I agree. Count on me. People like Stu Taylor could use the help.

MartyOutstanding!
Perhaps outfitters would consider making a donation to the foundation an item to be purchased with a hunt? I doubt anyone would be upset by, say, a $50 or $100 item as an add-on.
If they do object, it could be deleted.

Matt GrahamThis is a really good project and I am sure you will find many outfitters, guides and PH's would be happy to make an annual contribution!!
