Ackley Improved UserWhat's your experience with .375 Speer 270 gr. BT? Is it a good hunting bullet?

MARK H. YOUNGAIU,
This doesn't answer your question but if I was looking for a 375 bullet with high B.C. in a lighter weight than 300 I think I'd look at the 260 Nosler AB. In my 375 H&H the 260 AB shoots sub MOA at nearly 2,800 FPS and shoots to same POI as the 270 TSX. That makes for a combo that's hard to beat for almost anything.
I have a lion hunt booked for '12 and I think the AB will be my load of choice.

Ackley Improved UserMy 375 AI doesn't like the 260 or 300 gr. Accubond - mediocre accuracy. It loves the 270
Speer - nearly touching at 100 yds and 3060 fps. What powder do you use? Regards, AIU

MARK H. YOUNGAIU,
R-15 works really well in my H&H with the 260 AB. I have not tried it in my 375 WBY which of course is comparable to your 375 AI.
My suspicion is that the 270 Speer will be quite frangible at your AI velocities and could result in some spectacular faiures on animals larger than deer.
