Karl SChange of luck
We had something really extraordinary happen with a leopard client yesreday. He arrived a day late, missing his flight, one of his bags where missing (the one with his ammo in), his rifle/ scope/ Windhoek bought ammo where just not working together. In general, he was p$%sed off. I offered him the use of my 8x68, and as one of the baits where hit th night before, we where off just after lunh on his first day. He shot a bait gemsbok, as the leopard just about finished the back leg of the one we hanged out. We had him in the blind by 15h45, and he shot his cat 17h45, before it was on the bait...
Now this has happend before, but what is unusual is that our previous client (see his report in hunting reports- first day leopard), had the same luck!
And now for the even better part- when I sent my driver to fetch the perfectly good leg (IMO) for human consumption, he came back without the leg, but with the Trail camera:
This kitty came in about 3h after we left!!!

infinitoGeluk Kallo!
Just goes to show where you can get good cats! You do not need to look anywhere else.....And then you still read about guys making three or four trips without shooting a cat.
I am hoping to chime in over the weekend. Just got my bait up this morning, and the tracks looks nice.
Keep'em coming my friend!

PSmithJudging by the leopard's shoulder, it looks like he shot your 8X68 pretty well.

RiaanHell, congratulations Karl! PH’s (and I guess clients) dearly needs these sorts of lucky brakes for time to time – but as Gary Player said: “The more I work at it, the luckier I get.†Good job man. Now you, and your client, can really enjoy the rest of the hunt.

Karl SPSmith, yes he shot the 8x68 very well! It exited about 6 inches behind the opposite shoulder. Here is a less bloody photo, taken the next morning.
Riaan, thanks for comparing with a sporting great like Gary Player. I have to confess that most of the hard work and pre-baiting were done by my crew!
