Anyone want to upgrade their double rifle?

Wendell ReichAnyone want to upgrade their double rifle?
I bought a Chapuis PH II, 470 NE today. It is like new, in box. I have known the client since he bought this gun. He has fired 8 rounds through it. I can not find a flaw on it.
Here is the problem. I abuse my guns. I know if I keep this gun, I will hurt it. It is too pretty to hurt. I want to trade this gun for another double that I can use and, of course, some cash. I do not need a gun this nice.
I do not have to get rid of it, and I am not going to offer a great deal, but I will deal fair if any of you want to consider a trade.
Somebody save this gun ...

Frans DiepstratenAch Wendell!!
I can offer a CZ550 in .416 Rigby, and a Sauer 200 in 9.3x62 in exchange....

My hunt/gun petty cash box contains about $547 and 23 cents....

I could throw in a Lee Enfield No.4 Mk II with matching serial numbers....
Want my dog too?

Charles_HelmSince your plains game/DG backup rifle is a push-feed Remington with a broken stock, I will trade you a CRF 9.3x62 "Atkinson" and a dog to be named later. (some brass and bullets available)
I might also be able to dip into my lunch money, although I think Frans has me beat there.

D HunterI also have a CZ 416 and a old 30-06. I guess I could throw in a slightly used wife of 30 years. She can cook some things. She is a bit the worse for wear and tear, has almost all her teeth. She only bitches on days that end in Y. Since no one yet is throwing in a wife will you consider this a deal? I don't know I kind of like that 416 Rigby.
Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"
How about a weeklong adventure with my favorite hooker all expenses paid.

Or do you want to sell it outright. I may be able to get it cheaper that way.

458RugerNo1What a beautiful rifle! I'm not in the market for something like that but I sure do appreciate a fine rifle when I see it... Very, very nice!
What does something like that sell for typically?
I know what you mean about safe queens, I just dont keep them anymore it seems unless there's some sentimental value attached to it. My hunting/sporting rifle battery consists of six rifles and they all have their purpose and are used regularly. I could trim it down to two if I had to, but I like my battery simple and practical.

Wendell ReichA friend of mine, a Tomcat fighter Pilot who just returned from Iraq, and I shared what was left of a bottle of Jack last night. We toasted the new double, and took turns holding it like a new baby.
My wife only shook her head.
She did ask me, "Why do you want to get rid of this rifle?"
Good question.
I appreciate the offers, well, some of them at least, especially the ones that came with dogs, but I think after some thought, I will just keep this one and try not to destroy it.
Funny story ... as we sit sipping on Jack, somehow, Saeed's name came up. He perked up and said Saeed who?
Turns out this guy visited Saeed in Dubai, went to Saeed's shooting complex, shot the 577 T.Rex, played with the Cheetas, etc.
Small world.

I agree with Helm, the rifle has no better home than in the hands of a PH, who hunts in Dangerous game country, backing clients. A good soft case is all that is needed to keep the rifle nice in the bakki, and in your hands it is easy to protect.
Besides, Wendell, you need to upgrade your image after carrying a "PUSH FEED REMINGTON" all those years, and a good double rifle is the way to do just that!
