I voted at 09:30. Had to wait in line for about 30 minutes. Already more people had voted than in the last presidental election. My son drove home from college to cast his first election vote. When he voted at 17:30, turn out was at over 60% of the registered voters at our polling location.

Pete ESo there's an election going on or something?????

03 November 2004, 13:22
lawndartYup,
We're trying to decide whether to add Welsh or Old Gaelic to the list of languages permissible for taking driver's license exams in California.

03 November 2004, 13:36
prof242John, for that new language for drivers licenses, could it be in advanced anatomy? And only that language! You know they'd never be able to get one then. The words normally used for body parts don't translate into latin.

Max
p.s. I'll vote for Will. Heck, he ain't eny olter then mos' dem guys on kapitol hill.
03 November 2004, 13:43
Tex21I voted early - last week. It took me longer to get ID'ed and signed in than it did for me to bubble in for a straight party vote.
Yes, I did read the ballot first, it just happened this year that all the locals I vote for anyway ended up on the Republican ticket...
Early voting is the way to go gentlemen!
03 November 2004, 14:13
lawndartProf,
That is a great idea. The older terms for anatomical structures are a total mish mash of Greek, Latin, and Eponyms. Even the younger doctors don't use those terms. Just as well. A lot of the little pricks are liberals and shouldn't be allowed to drive or vote.

Stryker225I already mailed in my absentee ballot, like 2 weeks ago..

03 November 2004, 14:40
Heritage ArmsI am a bit nervous, I went early. Did my duty, the exit poles are scaring me a bit.
I have a feeling this election will be decided in court case after court case

lawndartThe only people in my town voting for Kerry are welfare rats and illegal aliens. I'm going to work on charts until I'm tired enough to fall asleep no matter what. Talk about butterflies in the old stomach. Yikes!

SaeedWill,
I hope you realize that we do have rules for those who try to make their own threads more active.
Walter is the judge we turn to here anytime there is any disagreement about, and here is his verdict:
"Will has a total of 53 posts on his thread, 10 of which are his own, so we divide the total posts by his own posts, and we get a score of
5.3 POINTS < !--color--> Mbogo375 has a total of 26 posts on his thread, of which 2 are his own. His score, therefore, is
13 points < !--color-->I hereby declare Mbogo375 the winner

Jeff AlexanderGreat job reelecting the President. (No thanks to where I live the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia). I think it's just about the only thing I voted for that won. Just proves polls don't mean squat.

kamaatuBush vs. Kerry
And now on a sidenote:
How can you be proud of your democracy when it's actually made out by app. 200 american families ??? Anyway, keep up the good spirit!!!

AtkinsonAmericans have spoken, God bless America...
I think John Kerry should spray his hair, use some more skin tan solution, do his pretty nails and come out of his house and do some debateing. He is, after all, a master bater!

and he should admit defeat and not tie the country up like the liberals did last year...
It does appear that this country is NOT devided, we just have some decenters in Kalifornia, Organ and a couple of New England states causing problems, but I will defend with my life their right to choose, while at the same time never understanding their A-moral, stupid, ignorant, and totally off base attitude, that's my right Michael Moore you ignorant shit!

04 November 2004, 05:44
hm1996Right on, Mr. Atkinson!
And we even got rid of Daschle, to boot.

hikerbumvery Good Ray.
Unfortunately I am from one of those Eastern States (NY) that always goes Dem not matter what I vote.
With this election I think I have good news and bad news. The good news for me is that in two years when Hillary Clintons term is up as NY Senator, she will decide not to run. The bad news is that she will at that time (in my opinion) begin her campaign for the presidency. With Bush unable to run, and no VP to run against her, the Republicans will really have to put up an unbelievably great candidate to keep her out of the white house. Just something to think about.

Remember "GW" has many supporters in Kalifornia. We have to suffer every year with a democratic license with help from Boxster & Feinstein. At least we have Arnold! The best man won!!

lawndartWhen I awoke this morning to find out that President Bush won re-election I felt relief. Ten minutes later I found out that little tommy daschle would be leaving public service for a new career as a telemarketer; it felt like Christmas came early this year. Did y'all see that dyspeptic look on uncle teddy kennedy's mug this morning at the concession speech?
Winning re-election - $500,000,000.00
The look on teddy's face - priceless

Russell E. TaylorI realized God DOES answer political prayers. I didn't want to serve under Kerry. I didn't want to look at his wife's face for four years. I didn't want to look at his kids' faces for four years. (God, I thought Chelsea was homely.) I much prefer working for "W" and am PROUD to call him my Commander-in-Chief. I much prefer looking at Laura. The two twins are serious mega-babes. "W" is killing Muslim bad guys and taking the fight to them instead of the other way around. Yup, yup, yup... I'm a happy camper.
I'm drinking a bottle of wine, frying up some bear meat (barbecue, bacon, some brown sugar), and watching Kurt Russell kill aliens in the Arctic on one of the movie channels. Life is good.

R-WESTAnd, sadly, here in PA, we (or at least Pittsburgh and Philadelphia) voted Dem again, just like 2000. What a shame that three counties can out-vote the other 63, or however many there are here. I'm completely and utterly ashamed.
Maybe we could give Philly to Delaware or Jersey or something. We'll keep Pittsburgh, 'cause that's where the Steelers are, and, the rest of the state can out-vote the libs there.

God Bless President Bush and the US of A!

SunshineBritain's DAILY MIRROR wants to know: "How can 59 054 087 people be so DUMB?"

Any explanations?

sharpsmanFrankly,I couldn't give a RAT'S ASS what ANY overseas paper thinks of our election.
It is NOT the 59 million + Americans that voted for BUSH who are the dumb ones.It is the sniveling ,efeminate BRITS who publish and read drivel like the Daily Mirror who are the slow witted ones..
At least we here in the US have not TOTALLY pissed away our freedoms such as the right to own a gun and/or defend ourselves with it.
What I would like to know is how the BBC convinced itself that MICHAEL MOORE was a worthy "commentator" for it's US election coverage. What a bunch of delusional, biased, socialist TWITS...
