Good luck Will on your upcoming safari for buffalo in the ARDA region of the Save! Shoot straight my friend and give Thierry my best. You two make for a great safari. Can't wait for your report.

safari-lawyerThanks all.
I'm running over my list a few more times and soon will zip the bag.
I laugh as I look at the tiny carry on and the small day pack that hold my kit for the next 11 days. It takes me back to that first safari 14 years ago. That "body bag" duffle held 75 lbs of ammo, clothes, candy, needless equipment, and (no joke) three boxes of pop tarts.
The only mixed feelings that I have involve my making this trip all alone. A dozen prior international adventures and twice as many in the lower 48 have always included some combination of parents, grandparents, and my wife. However, I will forge ahead, albeit alone.
Thanks again and look for a report around November 7.
Cheers,
Will J. Parks, III

MANDLAZIMHey Will
It just got seriously hot in the Lowveld of Zim - midday tempretures reaching 110F. You should probably throw in a bunch of those rehydrating sachets for those "short strolls" after Dagga boys!
All the best.

Thunder HeadGood luck will
Do you have a packing list you can post? I definatly took to much stuff on my first safari. I would like to lighten the load considerably this time around.
I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

safari-lawyerChilly pads, two fans, and 16 D cell batteries vs. 119F.
I'm betting 119F wins that battle.
Maybe I'll lose a few pounds.
In JNB, about to head to HRE.
Out.
