MJinesAfrican Proverb
Saw this posted on a website that specializes in photographic safaris. It is certainly consistent with my experience in Africa. Last trip I even noted that the ants seem to scurry around like they are on a mission. Everything seems to be on the move and not wasting any time lingering around -- and risking becoming something else's lunch.
Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It does not matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle...when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.18 October 2006, 23:45
NitroXI think "African Time" is actually quite relaxed.
Take it easy and forget about the stress of life. For animals as well as humans. Look at lions, they spend most of their time just lying around.

Yes, they are resting to make sure they can outrun a gazelle!

Forget the lions, take a look at African public servants - if they went any slower they would go backwards in time!

AlloutI do not know if this one came from the same place as the other, but here goes.
I pointed out to you the stars (the moon) and all you saw was the tip of my finger. Sukuma ( Tanzania )
