I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Which DR did you use? The 9.3x74 or the 450/400?
Congrats. Have a nice "victory" cigar.

phurley5JudgeG ----- Thanks for the report. Make sure you drink only the Scotch at Sundowner time, saving the Woodford Reserve I put in Pierre's bar for the Kentucky Bourbon drinkers.

Good shooting.

bwanamrmCongrats on a fine trophy, Ernest!

shakariJust a quick post to say what a pleasure it was for Mama and I to be able to enjoy Ernest's company and fine dry humour....... I'll look forward to reading his posts on his hunt etc.
Incidentally, whilst I admit to being a mad Englishman, I wasn't the particular mad Englishman he was referring to......

AtkinsonHello Steve,
I will be in Tanzania next year with my daughter, Butch Searcy, Bill/Bobbi Morrison and Alan Johnson if I can talk him into it...
I would hope you will be around, so try and schedule being there, we are overdue on that count, mostly due to my love of roping as you know!

shakariHi Ray,
I'll be close by for the entire season and will make sure to come by and join you all for a glass or two and a few laughs!
FWIW, the Selous this year is just soooooo beautiful. It burned really well and later rains have made it as green as an English country garden.

JudgeGI'm at Schiphol awaiting transport to Detroit and then JAX. I thought I was going to get on a charter out early, but, with my fat butt, I elected to let the plane fly, rather than dribble off the runway... therefore, stayed three extra and enjoyable days!
When I get back, maybe tomorrow, I'll upload a picture or two.
The mad Englishmen to whom reference was made, didn't include Sharkari, but a former manager at Westley-Richards and his hunting partner. Shakari is not mad, just crazy!
I missed out on the Sea Cliff fire, but the top floor is gone. Alas.
Lots of buffalo in R-2 this year. A bunch to follow every morning or afternoon.
More with a picture or two tomorrow.
