Canada Flights To Jo'berg PE ????
Hello all,

I have a client who needs a flight from Edmonton Canada to Port Elizabeth RSA.

Gracy said it is more expensive for Canadians to book through a US agent and suggested we try to find a Canadian agent or airline ticket consolidator.

If you try to book through the airline websites most go through London which is a big hassle for guns.

They can't travel through the US with guns so that's out. Any suggestions.

Todd,

Unless you have to change airports as in Heathrow to Gatwick or visa versa etc. there is no difficulty in London with guns. If you do have to change airports it will cost you for a licensed gun courier but arranging one is not a problem. Hassles in the UK with guns are an urban legand and BA is incredibly organized on shipping guns.

3 of us flew from Vancouver to Frankfurt then on to Johannesburg with Lufthansa then on to P.E. 2 flew with S.A. Airways from Calgary through Frankfurt to Johannesburg. The whole way we were only 1/2 hr apart so it worked good (met up for the 11hr layover in Frankfurt). Both airlines were about the same quality (economy) and we were happy with the overall experience.

I did Air Canada to Frankfurt, then SAA to JoBerg in 2005. AC and SAA have a baggage agreement, so luggage and rifles were checked right through. Had no hassles whatsoever. I used my company travel booking agent...not a hunting expert by any means, but it worked just fine.

Cheers,
Canuck

Thanks for the input guys. Maybe I will try to get him booked through London without an airport change.

I was told that just an airline change in London was a problem even if in the same airport. I may try calling the airlines directly to see what they say before I book him. He found a travel agent in Canada to do the booking I just don't want him to be hassled over his rifles.

Mark what do the gun couriers charge?

Thanks again for the advice.

Todd,

Contact this guy for a current quote. He handled my guns last year when we laid over in Sept. Nice job and less expensive than PDQ or others www.Gunrunner.cc My advise is for your client to go with BA the whole way and make everything real simple.
