Here's a 21 inch Neumann's Hartebeest taken March 1st. He was in with 5 other bulls but was a real stand out. It took quite a while to get him isolated so there wasn't any doubt about which one the client was to shoot. They were having a big time swapping places ...almost like they knew what was going on ;however, all hartebeest have short memories. This was shot with a .375 Rem. Ultra Mag. using 270 grain ammo loaded with what appeared to be round Nose Hornady's. The hartebeest never untracked.

I like Hartebeest. They're so ugly they're downright cool! Kind of like warthogs... That is a superb animal.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Gotta love those Hornady RN's in 375.
