In The Blink Of An Eye, She Attacked...

I was playing around with our cheetah babies. One was biting my toes, one was having a big fight with the bottom of my trousers. I had the camera and was taking photos of them playing.

This one was sitting in my lap, being rather quiet and looking at my face.

I turned the camera around to take a photo of her. Suddenly, she launched herself at my face.

Luckily, all she wanted was to give me a good licking rotflmo

Saeed, many years ago, a kid at school had a "pet" lynx. Fun, but very rambunctious.

They ended up getting rid of it (it just dawned on me right now, I have no idea where or how they got "rid of it") because it was tearing up the furniture.

The claws on that cat were amazing.

But, obviously you already know about that... Wink

I want to see this same sort of photo again in a couple years.

Bill,

They actually get tamer as they get older.

We have one which is a year old, and she is quite playful.

Once they get to about two, they tend to get a bit laid back.

They like human company, and sometimes when I try to leave they do grab my leg with both their claws and mouth.

But never hard enough to be painful.

Years ago we had two large males together, and they decided to settle some sort of score, as they had an almighty fight!

I ran to them, and just whacked each on the head with my bare hands.

I think I over did to the larger one, as he dropped down stone cold.

I knocked him out.

It took him a few seconds to recover, and as I was stroking him he started to lick my hand.

I never had any more problems with them after that.

Saeed: How lucky you are to have the big cats around. I somehow suspect the cheetah would be the most trustable. More photos?

It's a wonder you lived to tell about it!

What are the odds of getting attacked by a cheetah and a tiny crocodile at the same time? Wink

I expect you are one of the very few person who has knocked out a Cheetah with his fist.

One thing I have wondered about is after having them as pets so long could or would you shoot one in the wild?

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Very difficult question to answer Allen.

I probably would not shoot one.
