What Remington is doing with ammo
I went to Remington's site to see what ammo of theirs was offered loaded with A Frames.

Could't find any reference to A Frames so I called customer service. I was told they are no longer loading any ammo with A Frames or Scirrocos. They were trying to streamline their offerings.

Coincidentally, this week I had talked to one of the better known commercial reloaders and he told me that since Remington bought Barnes, it was taking a lot longer to get Barnes bullets because Remington was having them sent to Remington's plant to load in the Vortex line.

It's sure getting harder for non handloaders to find what they want.

I have also seen information saying they and Winchester are getting out of manufacturing reloading brass.

I have not verified this.

Hard for NON HANDLOADERS?? Trust me, it is even harder for hand loaders the last couple years...Especially in Canada! We can't get a consistent stock of anything (powder, bullets....) Its crazy on all fronts right now. Just this week i noticed one store in Calgary, Alberta selling Yellow Jacket 22lr ammo and it was listed at over $79 a brick (10 boxes) plus 5% tax!! Are you kidding me?!!! And good luck finding ammo anywhere let alone what you normally shoot...

It's going to be interesting to see what Federal does down the line.

I do miss the Federal Premiums loaded with Barnes bullets, those have been very good for me. I have mostly switched over to the Vortex stuff, as it seems to shoot to the same POI, for the most part. I just do not have the same level of trust in it, as I did the Federal, for no apparent reason. I just had gotten very confident in the Federal stuff.

I now have several boxes of the harder to find TSX and solids, on the shelf, against the day I can't get either again, as we went thru quite a dry spell for a while there.

Mike E,

I agree. The Federal ammo loaded with TSX's always shot great in any rifle I owned, 30-06 or 338 win Mag.

I have not had the same luck with any of the Vortex loaded with the Tipped TSX.
