SpringA magazine article on safaris
An area magazine contacted me a few weeks ago and expressed interest in doing an article on some of us that live in our area that enjoy safaris. I was surprised last Friday when someone brought me a copy of it all completed as they had indicated it wouldn't be out until their February issue. Anyway, I think they did a good job and that you might enjoy it. Here are links to pages of the article from

RupertBearI get a kick out of the cougar pictured on page 2. Kind of like old ER Burroughs placing tigers in Africa. A cat is a cat, right?

SpringRupert,
That's a good observation! The writer of this article, Tom Seegmuler, is a very good hunter, writer, and outdoorsman, however, he had no previous insight into African safaris. I guess transplanting a Florida panther (the subspecies of a mountain lion that is terrbily endangered but still lives in parts of Georgia) into his story on Africa proves that point very well!
I also found it interesting that each of the people he happened to contact had previous experience with the same booking agent. I had no idea the Atcheson's had made themselves known to these other hunters.
