Saeed, WHAT RIFLE IT THAT?????
Saeed,

I was wondering what that rifle in the picture with Walter and the buff is.

Is it the same as the one I see you hunt Buffalo with now ?? I know you are fond of that 404-375 wildcat with Walterhog bullets.

I looked through the rifles gallery and it looked like one of the Lazeronis in there. However, the likeley canidates had muzzle breaks and the rifle in the picture with Walter has no visible muzzle break.

Also, in the rifle gallery I didn't see any double rifles. Do you have any??

Just curious.

Thanks again for hosting the best thing on the internet.

This is one of the 375/404 we uall use on our safaris. It is built on a Dakota 76 action and a Dan Lilja barrel.

I do not have any double rifles I am afraid.

Saeed, I cannot believe that you don't own any double rifles...

Don't you know by such a confession you are opening up yourself to scorn and derision? dancing

Hello Saeed,

Why don't you have double rifles in your battery?

I was brought up on single barrel rifles and shotguns. We never had any doubles here, as I suppose we never had any reason to own those big bores.

I have shot a few, but, frankly, they are not the sort of rifle I would use to hunt with.

They are specialized rifles, and I prefer to hunt with a rifle that would be at home shooting an elephant at 10 paces or a waterbuck at 500 yards.

And with the 375/404, I have done both.

Thanks for the reply. I suppose the 375-404 is the ultimate one rifle battery. I have toyed with the idea of a 416 Weatherby for that reason. I have settled on the good old 375 H&H just because I already have a good one.

I don't feel the need for a double rifle either. Although I have one and will probaply get another just because I like them. I think the only time you would "need" a double is if you were doing elephant culling. Even then I think a guy with a bolt rifle who is skilled is not shorthanded.

Best Wishes
Jamie
