Houston Safari Club 2006 CONVENTION and EXPO

â€œTrails, Torches and Traditionsâ€ Convention, scheduled for February 3-5, 2006.

2006 Expo at Woodlands Waterway Marriott
Friday, February 3rd 10 am - 6 pm
Saturday, February 4th 9 am - 6 pm
Sunday, February 5th 10 am - 6 pm

Expo Admission: Day Pass - $10.00 per person
Purchase Expo Admission at the Convention Registration Counter

Depending on how the mother-in-law is doing, I plan to go half a day Friday and Saturday.

The PH I hunted with Claude Kleynhans and his wife Jill of Mafigeni Safaris will be there, and Peggy and I would very much like to take them to dinner one night, if schedules can be arranged!

Look forward to seeing you in Dallas, also!

Houston is a very nice show. Much smaller than Reno or Dallas but more intimate with the exhibitors there. I met AR member Mims aka "Harry" Reed there and bought a nice Sterling Davenport .375 H&H last year and booked a leopard safari with Chifuti. Had lots of time to visit with old friends like Bob Harper of Outdoor Visions (an old banker that took a turn for the better!) and new acqaintances like Craig Boddington and Andrew Dawson. Look forward to meeting others there. Will probably make it up on Saturday.

Hi Rusty and all, I wish I could make it there but be sure to say hi to Claude and Jill. I met them again in Sacramento and find them to be among the nicest couple I have ever encountered. My wife was very taken with them as well. I dragged her to the show so she could see that these are all real people I am talking about. I think she is coming around to wanting to go as well.

Our buddy Tip Burns will be bringing the President's rifle in 500 Jeff. He and John Valicek, put it together so it's gotta be good. We had a chance to look at an original Schuler at DSC to check out how an original military Mauser gets modified to make a big'un. Bob
