I’m looking to book a leopard hunt for next year. Today I talked to Stone Safaris about their Luangwa Valley leopard hunts.

I’ve never been to the Luangwa Valley, so very little about the area.

I was curious if anyone has advice or experience hunting leopard with Stone, or even just hunting in their areas in the Luangwa.

Yes they hunt in some very fine concessions owned by Zaeed Patel and the Luangwa is stuffed with Leopard.

Andrew is right, the last time I was in the Luangwa Valley we saw leopard almost every day while traveling to our buffalo hunts. When you see multiple leopards in day light while just driving down the roads, that to me, says there are plenty leopards around. You will love the valley, it is a very good hunting place, at least it was the last time I hunted there!
You are going to need baits, and the valley is full of PUKU so pick one that will make a good piece for your trophy room. Zambia is about the only place where PUKU are plentiful.

I dont have extensive experience with African hunting, but on 6 different hunting trips, the only time I have seen a leopard in the wild, during daylight was in the Luangwa valley. Certainly was one of the very best hunts I have been on. No information on the outfitter I am afraid.

I have seen some monsters that were taken with Stone this past season. However, I don’t have any experience with them.

Jason Stone is a very fine PH and has almost 100% on Leopard. If you want I can forward you his contact details.

Took my Tom on the first afternoon with Jason, of the 8 hippo baits hung 7 were hit, Buffalo are plentiful as are most PG. He is a good laugh and a very good hunter

His reputation proceeds him- by all accounts you will have an excellent hunt with Jason.
