billinthewild60 Years A Hunter
Our good friend Bill Quimby finally has his book now available from Safari Press. I have read it, and it is a truly great story of his hunting life and experiences. Not only has Bill hunted every continent, and some several times, his hunting exploits in the USA are fascinating as well. As one time editor of SCI publications, and a former outdoor writer for the Tucson newspapers, he brings to this book a lifetime of personal experiences that are a pleasure to read about. And if his life as a hunter was not enough, remember that he has written, and ghost written, books about some of the legendary hunters of our time. Sixty Years A Hunter is not a "how to do it" book, it is a book about a man's hunting life, a warm and personal story and a man who has done it all.
If you would like a signed copy, send Bill a PM.
Bill will also be signing at the SCI Convention this month.

Idaho SharpshooterThe first real highlight of 2010 will be having my picture taken with Bill at SCI Reno, and getting that autographed copy of the book signed there!!
He will leave a tremendous legacy behind, but we are not in any hurry for him to go!

Badger MattMy wife purchased an autographed copy of the book from Bill (after I carefully laid the ground work so she didn't buy me some damned Disney pajamas...like the Christmas Disaster of 2008

).
I'm only about halfway through the book, but it is an excellent read. Bill's style reminds me a bit of the late Skeeter Skelton; easy "listening" and you feel like you're there.

Equinsu OchaBill and I sat down to fully comped lunch in the Foothills yesterday (manager said we were some entertaining customers!

) to BS about African hunting, past and present.. I had a great time listening to Bill tell his stories in person. He is a wealth of info for anyone who enjoys any and all things hunting. Oh yeah, got my book signed while there!
Bill, it was a pleasure and as I said, as soon as we get back from Africa next month, count lunch on me.. I say we go next door next time. Who knows, maybe the "charisma" will work over there too!
You're a class act for sure. See ya soon.

billrquimbyThanks, Scott.
I'd arm wrestle you for the check, but you're younger and meaner than I am. Look forward to hearing about your latest safari.
