Frank MartinezREgarding bringing bullets or stuff from Africa
Does anyone know the rules or regulations about bringing heads (bullets) back from Africa. Are there locations where supplies not available here can be purchased there to be brought back?

Russ GouldEach country has its own rules regarding export. As far as importation into the USA, I don't believe there are any prohibitions on reloading components such as bullets. Ammo yes, guns yes, gun barrels yes but bullets no. I am a licenced importer so I think I have this right.
There are gun shops in South Africa and Namibia where you can buy bullets. Botswana doesn't allow reloading so I don't think you will find any there. Zimbabwe...well good luck finding bread let alone bullets.
Having said all that, bringing bullets into the USA is like carrying coals to Newcastle. Why would you do it??

Frank MartinezHow about where to buy Rhino bullets here.
Would it be cheaper to buy GS and bring them back?

Safari-HuntWe, have had clients brining back bullets mostly rhino back to Europe with no hassles.
Not that numbers of them have done it but they had no problem.
Alf, maybe you just had the bad luck of black luck.

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Thank you Keith. I saved that info.

I´ve bought bullets, brass, reloading dies etc in SA and brought it back in my suitcase without any hassle.
Coming from Namibia I made a dumb mistake by putting bullets (heads) in my carry on...I flew home through Joburg and when they x-rayed my bag the shit really hit the fan!
But I was asking for it...
