Do you value your guns as trophies or just as tools you have used?

I view my firearms as investments I can use. Not tools and not trophys. Although some of my guns have a mar in the finish or a scratch in the blueing. I strive to keep them looking brand new. I also have some guns that would be called "safe Queens" -- never fired and the actions never cycled.

My old 375 looks like i tied a rope to it and dragged it to Zimbabwe via the arctic circle. It's obviously not much of an investment, and i do not consider it a trophy. What does that leave? Oh yeah, it must therefore be a tool.

Yet, when things got cheeky, or wounded animals were on the agenda, I assure you Finn always picked up his 458 Win, Westley Richards or his 458 M-70 Win......He said "it knocks big bloody holes in things".......
