The Ugliest M70 Stock Ever... Only $19,500!
05 March 2006, 20:55
JarrodIt's definately different. Be ok to hang on the wall because it is probably one of a kind.
But for 19,500 is a little out of touch with reality.

404WJJefferyI have seen this rifle stock before- it was featured in a new MTV show called "Pimp My Rifle Stock". Zany hipsters secretly snag a friend's rifle and take it to four gay guys in New York who go wild redesigning the rifle, having their hair done and buying shoes for the hunter to go with his new rifle stock. They then surprise the happy hunter at a party that evening with all his hunter friends. As far as I know, only the pilot show was made, and there is no news if OLN will pick it up for a full season.
In fairness to the seller, he did admit that the rifle stock was "left in Africa" for about 50 years.......I understand why!

Indian elephants done in Africa with ivory and bamboo inlays? ... On a Plain Jane factory stock from a 1958 M-70. Very amusing.

Skinner.Looks like an Atkinson original.
Except it's not curly maple with a thumbhole and a big rollover. I guess those came later.

vigillinusContemporary version of a 17th C wheelock. Some of those had a lot of decorative inlay with very plain wood underneath. The animals on this stock are really well done. But of course the price is nutso.

ForrestBThey look like Indian elephants to me. It's a post-war pre-64 stock. I don't think the person writing the description has the faintest idea about guns or hunting.
