Rigby at SCI Convention

In this month's SCI magazine there is a story on the Rigby rifle that was fully engraved to resemble elephant hide. It mentioned being exhibited at SCI. Anyone see it in person?

I thought it looked pretty darn sharp and realistic.

Didn't see it in person but have seen many pics. Neat. But they kinda goofed with the over-used and cartoonish elephant on the floor plate. Would have been better without it.

I must admit that the initial description sounded hideous, but I'll start with I can't afford it and follow up with I love it. I agree, it would be better without the elephant and if they had kept the hide pattern across the whole bottom metal.

I saw it and was extremely impressed!! Spoke with the engraving artist Tony Maidment at the show who meticulously did the work...over 2000 hours!!
I discussed having the case of my old Omega Flightmaster engraved like that??!!

There was quite a story about this rifle, and in the end the unidentified buyer....

FYI, Rigby has brought John Sharp on as Rigby's Man in Africa!!

Not sure I would want the entire rifle done like that, but really digging the grip cap.

I like 470Eddy's idea too on having it done to a watch.

Must be a real PITA to keep clean.

Looks very good but the cross cut lines look too symmetrical - like squares.

Yes the grip cap looks very good.
