Rhino Bullets

Does anyone know how to purchase Rhino Bullets in the U.S. I have tried the local distributor a few times and never get a response. Maybe I have bad information. I am interested in trying the 350gr. and 380gr. in my .375

I believe that the US distributor of Rhino bullets got out of that business or at least out of Rhino bullets at least a year ago, maybe two, after selling off all his stocks.

I do happen to have 4 box's [25 each] of the 380gr Rhino bullets that I would be willing to part with if you are seriously interested.

My experience of Rhino bullets is not very good.
Never had two that looked the same or printed anywhere near each other.
I suggest you contact GS Custom USA.
Best penetration I have seen in a 375 was with a 265 GR HV. The FN Solids also out penetrate most anything else you can buy.

I also had trouble with Rhino bullets but will say they make good fishing weights once they've had a hole drilled through 'em.

GS Custom bullets AND their customer service on the other hand are absolutely tip top.

I have seen nothing but good results from Rhino bullets. Notably in large calibers , the softs have performed very well on Buffalo with fantastic weight retention and penetration. The solids have always performed flawlessly on Elephant with impressive penetration to say the least.

There is a distinct difference in quality on the Rhino bullets from their plains game range and the larger bore bullets.

Use them for softs in the .416 Rigby. Outstanding.

My Experience with Rhino and SG Custom bullets.
My sons and I have used both a bit.

Rhino:
-About 16 plainsgame on our first and third trip to Africa.
-Skinners recovered most of the bullets. All looked pretty good. Held together with nice expansion. 7mm and 30-06.
-The Outfitter supplied the loaded rounds and was happy with their performance.

Conclusin: From the above experience I give them a thumbs up.

GS Custom Bullets (not solids )2nd, 4th, hunt in SA:
-About 28 plainsgame including Kudu, Eland, Zebra. 30-06 and 7mm. Included several 275+ yd. shots.
-Very accurate in two different rifles.
-Some bullets zipped right through the animals with small exit holes.
-Too often, recovered bullets had not expanded as advertised.
-Outfitter said GS Custom bullets have controversial reputation in South Africa for disappointing terminal performance.

Conclusion: When they perform as advertised then they are similar to TSX bullets. A third of the time they did not perform as advertised. (Did not expand at all.) Bad news for expensive bullets. Have to give them the thunbs down.

This is our experience. Your milage may vary.

My hunting buddy loaded up some Rhino solids for our 2015 Botswana trip.....neither of used any (we both had large bore rifles....and .375s in reserve..) but we left some of that ammo for the farmers.

One of them shot an elephant with one Rhino bullet...amazing penetration and the bullet broke the spine of the animal.

I had the same experience with the GS Mono's...very disappointing terminal performance but superb accuracy when working up loads..

Have you tried Woodleighs?

Dangerous Dave, You have probably looked at Cutting Edge Bullets. They have some heavy tactical mono bullets in 375 cal. Might be something there for you. (?)

Those woodleighs never draw a complaint, that's for sure.

I saw a CEB Raptor fail on a Bushbuck out of a 375 at 200 yards. perfectly placed shot only managed to penetrate the shoulder, never made it through to the chest cavity.
