AK Huntertrophy shipping from Namibia
Just got a quote on shipping my trophies (hides, horns and skulls) via airfreight to Anchorage: US$1927. The boxes weigh 68kg, but volume weight is 116.5kg. Compared to my past shipments from Africa, this seemed high. How does this compare to recent shipping charges from Namibia for some of you others?

AK HunterI thought mine sounded high. Who was the shipping company on yours?

TJHunter, Like you, I think I got screwed. This was my second shipment from Namibia using the same company. There were double charges and other issues I was courious about.
Lets face it, as an American hunter, your at their mercy. They can screw you and you have no recourse, except notify everyone else and never using them again..
I'll PM you.

Black FlyMy package last year was a little lighter and only had to get to the PA, but was still over $1100. I was disappointed by that price, but there is little you can do. I had tried to arrange for delivery to Baltimore and do the import myself, but flight charges to the shipper prevented that, and I was reduced to dealing with shippers.

TJI just checked my waybill. The total shipping portion of the bill was $1040. The rest was for misc. paperwork.

AK HunterNyati Taxidermy in Windhoek did the caping, salting, dipping and crating. They then forwarded the shipment to I.F.N. Airfreight Logistics for freighting to the US. They are asking for full payment prior to shipping. In the past, all my shipments have been freight collect.

Hunting Trophy QueenWe are very familiar with IFN. They are one of 3 agents we work with in Namibia. They do permit freight to move on a collect basis if we are handling the clearance for the hunter. If sending to Alaska we have the trophies shipped to our Seattle office and they arrange clearance there and onforward via barge to AK.
