Jorge, I would definitely like more information about this pending legislation. We keep a pretty close eye on what's happening in Columbia and this is the first I've heard of this matter.

I'm an avid wild hog hunter, and eater. There's a wild hog roast in the oven for dinner right now! We certainly don't need a bunch of dumbass politicians passing laws to fix something that isn't broken!

However, I don't understand how prohibiting the transporation of wild hogs would "eradicate the hog population" or "close down hog hunting?"

What is the misconceived intent of this legislation? Is it supposed to prevent the spread of some sort of swine disease to domestic hog populations?

Finally, would it apply to live hogs, dead hogs, or both?

There are tens of thousands of wild hogs running around loose in South Carolina. Their populations may rise or fall from year to year, but they are basically self-sustaining. In fact, local populations tend to increase very rapidly when unchecked by sport hunting.

Where is your friends property?

His website is a joke.

I urge you to take back your land and all the creatures that roam it. Protect them from the mass corruption and criminality involved with sports hunting.

He's directing this to Zimbabwe (and other African countries), the animals there need to be protected from the government, not us. The government is the corruption, not sport hunters.

Mmmmmm, Lentils. Lip smacking good. Not 'dead' meat for this SF "fruit" loop.

Thanks for posting this Mark. It was amazingly humourous.

But I am really angry and DEMAND equal rights for "wheat strands" to live their short but joyful lives in peace!

(lentils too)

Let's not be too hard on the boy. Some of us have probably kissed a pig or two, after the bar's been open a while

Hi Mark, the place is called Black River Plantation and it's in Clarendon County. The Bill in question is H. 4996 and it's designed to stop folks from trapping hogs and moving them. AS you probably know, hogs are often-times trapped in one area where they are a nuisance ( like farms) and then Hunting operations purchase them and release them in their areas. Black River operate about 4800 acres UNFENCED and free ranging. Ther number over at Black River is (843)382-2200. The manager is my best friend's son, Mike Stroff. He can give you more details if you like, but the bottom line is the eradication of ferals in SC! If you want to talk more, send me a PM or email and I'll send you my cell and ofice numbers. jorge
