Earthquake
Just saw the BBC online about the quake in Southern Iran and its effect in UAE. Saeed, you and yours o.k.?

Sarge,

No problems here at all, thank you for your concern.

I feel very sorry for our neighbours up north, as they seem to get quite a bit of this. I just hope it is not as bad as the last one they had.

Some of the building close by us were evacuated, but we did not even notice there was an earthquake.

Walter was here, and he was playing with my daughter and some of her friends. They were creating quite a racket, which explains why I did not notice anything.

I have heard that we do get some minor trimors here sometimes, although I have not felt any myself.

Saeed,

Glad to here you folks are OK... BBC reports from Iran indicate very few dead which is a blessing compared to other quakes which have hit the region...

Regards,

Pete

Saeed, I hadn't realized you are based in Iran! My PhD advisor, Fereydoon Family, was from Iran, though I have the impression they have all been out of the country since the late '70s (his brother lives in Canada, etc). I didn't even realize you were in a position to be worried about when earthquakes have happened there. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I'm happy to hear Walter is playing with your kids, that things are normal enough. I hate to ask whether he does warthog immitations for them?

He isn't. Saeed lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
