Buzz Huntington R.I.P.
Another Good Guy has gone to the happy hunting ground...

Yesterday, a friend called to tell me that he'd just left the Huntington home, and that Buzz had passed away. For those who reload, the Huntington name is well known, as Buzz's father Fred founded RCBS. Fred and Buzz ran the business out of Oroville, California until the family sold the business to Omark Industries (if memory serves me correctly). Buzz continued to live in Oroville, where he owned Huntington's Sportsman's Store. The store still has many of his and Fred's old mounts on the walls. Perhaps the greatest treasure in the store are the old black and white photos of Jack O'Connor, Warren Page, Elmer Keith and other outdoor writers of times gone by.

Buzz had suffered a stroke around Thanksgiving and declined after that event.

Very sad to hear this.

I had the pleasure of meeting Buzz about 30 years ago. He was such a wonderful and kind man.

Went out of his way to help you.

My thoughts to his family.

Sad news. I knew Buzz and his wife and all the guys in the store. I used to live in Chico, Ca., right up the road from Oroville. I had work in Oroville for about a year and "had" to drive by the store twice a day. That job cost me a lot of money and it all went into Buzz's pocket. The store had a great little museum in the back with a lot of Fred's guns and fine examples of top Gunsmiths work from generations past. I'll miss Buzz.

That's a shame. Buzz was one of the good guys.
