Namibia: 2 Drown As Hippo Hits Boat

An adult and a baby drowned in flood waters between Schuksmansburg and Zambia, east of Katima Mulilo, on Wednesday.

Police in Windhoek reported yesterday that a banana boat was bumped by a hippo and the boat capsized. The body of the adult was recovered while that of the baby is still missing.


The deceased are both Namibians. The boat was carrying 19 people. Police investigations continue.
