GatogordoCosts to import $5000 gun from Europe?
I'm posting this here since I am sure some members in here have done this. Besides costs, what is the general procedure and how much time does it typically require? Thanks for any information.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.
NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.
I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Griffin & Howe imports on a regular basis. I don't believe it's nearly as complicated as exporting a rifle from the US. Call Paul Chapman at (908)766-2287.

GatogordoThanks everyone. I'll look into it.
Right now, developing today, I have committed to buy some property (offer accepted) that I don't have the cash for, so I will likely be selling a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of guns and stuff. I've got way too much of both. Luckily I've got a friendly loan shark, locally called a banker.

cal pappasThe original question was the cost to import.
I'm in the process of importing a rifle from Australia. The total cost, import, customs, freight to the US, broker, freight to me, a second broker to do the BATF paperwork will cost about $2000. US. Not worth it on a 5K rifle in my opinion.
I hope this is the answer to your question.
