Zimbabwe and Mozambique
I hear Tre following:

Zimbabwe is the grips of a tremendous drought right now driving meat poaching to a sever level.

Mozambique has seen a tremendous increase in violence due to ISIS. I am told the violence has gotten out of hand.

How are these parts of the world.

I have heard the bush is quite green and thick at the moment, which would tend to point against widespread drought at the moment.

I have heard the same that the country side is green and thick now.

however, the country is experiencing a drought and the community villages are looking for food to eat. It is not looking good at this time.

I have not read any issues with Mozambique, however I am not searching for issues there.

Any specific info on Mozambique and the areas impacted? I’m scheduled to hunt near Lichinga in September…

This is a little dated.

This one gives a good summary of where ISIS has been operating. I do not know how the areas stayed here overlap w Safari Areas.

Interesting...thanks for the information.

I found a few articles from the past few months describing an uptick in activity in the Cabo Delgado province which is the province east of Niassa so I'm thinking most of the prime hunting blocks in and around the game reserve should be ok but it is definitely something to keep an eye on. Also, a quick search on the US state department did not have any recent travel alerts/advisories FWIW.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention! I know I'll be checking in frequently with the outfitter as my hunt dates get closer...

We returned from Zim 10 days ago, hunted in Dande and it was pretty dry, most water holes were dry and poaching was evident around waterholes that still had water. We picked up quite a few snares and bumped into two poachers.
