LeopardtrackQuestions for traveling to Namibia
Hello,
I will be hunting Namibia in June'05, flying from New York with a 3 hour stop over in Jo'Berg, and on to Windehoek.
Will I need to obtain a firearms permit for South Africa, since I am only stopping there?? Do I need any documentation from here in the USA to fly with my rifle? Do I need a visa to enter Namibia?
Any info that you experienced travelers could give me would be greatly appreciated! Wolfgar

TheBigGuyI will watch any comments with great interest as I too plan on travelling to Namibia June '05. I am leaving from Atlanta though. I am hunting near Outjo.
I do know that you passport must not expire inside of six months of your leaving Nambia. That is a Nambian law. I understand.

McCrayAt the present time, if you check your guns through to Windhoek from the US, you don't need to do any paperwork for them when you pass through SA. This may or may not change by next year.
Get your Form 4457 from US Customs, while it's designed for US use, it comes in handy in Windhoek. Not required but handy.
No visa is needed for Namibia.
Good luck.
