Lhook7It's amazing to me how every lion hunt in RSA is on a property bordering Kruger with no fence separating the two.

Steve RichardsI have booked 2 safaris thru Safari Outfitters, one to Zim, the other to Zambia. I do not think that I will use them again.

Safari-HuntWhy do you have to travel somewhere else for plainsgame north of Johannesburg ? There is plenty of nice plainsgame in that area or what does the lion feed on ?

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

WinkIf anyone is truly interested in hunting on property bordering the Kruger, with no fences between, I have a good PH for you. PM me for details.

Safari-HuntObviously you get nice places next to the Kruger that you can hunt and don't have fences bordering Kruger. Like the Timbavati, Balule and Klaserie I just don't understand why they would hunt plainsgame somewhere else.

shootawayif the money is coming in and it is a wild hunt and the lion is a monster then go.It has to be a wild hunt like the kind Saeed goes on or else its not worth it.but before you go bargain them down because they just want to suck you dry.when they say 56,000 you know they mean 5600.in that part of the world they specialize in screwing over.

My guess is that the outfitter got hunting rights for one lion in one of the reserves next to Kruger you mentioned (although I was under the impression that hunting was stopped in those reserves Timbavati, Klaserie etc.) and that he owns land or can get a better deal on plains game animals North of JNB.

Most of the hunts bordering the Kruger should not have fences between them and the Kruger, and there are huge reserves where hunting is allowed, like the Balule,Timabvati, Klaseri. This is South Africa's best Big game hunting area, and no one can claim canned hunting, if it is done properly.
What I can say, is that some of those lions get "lured" out of the Kruger, and that is the controversy surrounding hunting lion in that area......
That is what you pay for a big lion, but we have an Ellephant Bull availble to hunt, NOW, for about half that dosh.....

infinitoThey are still hunting in those areas, the legislation is not passed through parmliment yet. We get a lot of Buff, and the occasional Ellephant from there.
The area might not have what the guys is looking for in PG.....

Judge,
Your sense of humor is priceless... I used to shop at Kroger and bought cat food there.

LJSThis hunt is for a lion in Timbavati. The next lion permit for that area will be 2008 I was told.
