Has any one used these on safari?

i can't answer that question, but i usually go in an old, comfortable pair of athletic type shoes and then leave them there

Are those the trail runner things? I usually take the New Balance 992's. I've been very pleased the last two times. I looked at the trail runner's 'cause the PH is always bitchin' about not being able to feel the rocks/noise makers enough, but New Balance doesn't make them narrow enough for me.
