I am not a trophyhunter, but I wouldn`t mind
try to shoot some cape buffalo for the thrill and excitement!. What would it cost to shoot some nonetrophy buffalos? no taxidermist! I am much aware that prices can wary from country to country!.A none trophybull can be just as dangerous as a trophybull!!!.

The only price difference is between shooting a bull or a cow. The bulls cost the same, whether you are lucky to find a 50" one or smaller.

Cows can be shot in Zimbabwe, and may be other countries, but not in Tanzania.

If you have a good PH, and you do your part, no buffalo will ever present any danger to you.

The stories you hear of "bullet-proof" buffalo are all due to a major screw up by someone, not due to the buffalos nature.

I think you will find that the "trophy" aspect is generally in the eyes of the beholder. It costs the same whether your buffalo gets into to the trophy books or not. Unless you can somehow get invited to participate in a managed culling operation organized by wildlife authorities (there are only about a million of us who would like to participate and we consider ourselves in line in front of you) or know the owner of a game ranch willing to give you a shot for a reduced price than you will pay the price that it costs to go on safari and shoot a buffalo. Since you will pay the price, might as well look for a big one.

The trophy can also stand for a mature animal and not a calf or very young animal...The theory of shooting mature animals is allowing the strongest animals to breed and keep the herd strong in terms of genes.. imo
