Frank MartinezFun with Live feed from Africa
Got home at dark this evening and since the wife is out doing some care-giving for an ill friend I decided to start a little campfire in the back yard. I turned on the computer and opened the live feed of Africa thread. If you haven't tried this it is great. I stuck my speakers into the window with the volume up a bit and went out to have a quiet hour or so of African wildlife singing near the waterhole.
Very much the real thing with a tall glass of JD and a brisk clear night sky.
Try it. You'll like it.

Actually the sounds of the recent storms fit in nicely with the way our weather has been recently.
Last night happened to be rather clear by comparison so the sounds of the Thunder and wind fit right in with what I am used to.
What we don't have here is the sound of the African Wilderness. Even in the back-country there isn't as much nightlife.

CanuckI will have to try that...sadly, I will have to wait 6 or 7 months though. At least 4 just for the snow to disappear.

Cheers,

Aspen Hill AdventuresChris,
If you build a big enough fire you'll stay warm. Might even melt some of the snow...

Jim ManionFrank,
Better watch the height of the glass of that tall JD. Wouldn't want you mistaking the neighbors cat for chui..
"911 Operator may I help you"....
"yes, there is a man in his underwear chasing my cat down the street holding a double rifle shouting something about being a king of of a tribe or something"...
"Hold on Ma'am...(in the background)Bill, it's that Martinez guy again..."

Jim, that is just too funy. Actually next week the glass with follow the bottle but I wouldn't want to spoil my rifle's reputation with the neighbors cat after it performed so admirable of the giant "Rat" of Texas. I only wish I had "Trophied Up" for the camera with that one.
Now there is this little dog that lives down the road that must have a tiny bladder 'cuz right around 3 every morning I hear a kitchen screen door slam and within minutes that little so and so starts yapping and doesn't quit for another hour when I again hear the damned door slam. Now that dog and the owner I would invest a couple of 450's on.
