Abie Steyn

Does anyone know what happened to Abie Steyn? I hunted with him a couple of times back in 2002/2003.

I heard he started Caracal Safaris with another couple of PHs, and they had some problems including a PH banged up quite a bit by a buff and some dissatisfied clients due to them contracting out a couple of hunts with other PHs.

I am just curious, as I had a couple of great hunts with him.

Interesting that no one has heard anything of him for a long while.

Years back Craig Boddington had an article in Sports Afield about following up a wounded leopard with Abie.

I wonder if Abie has come to grief?

I didn't realize Abie had a son. I thought he had a couple of daughters. I know he had a BIL, Eric who was a PH.

Could this be a different Abie?

The one I am asking about lived in Barberton, RSA. Him and his dad (Tieney) ra Steyn Safaris for a number of years until his dad retired.

Yes AB is alive and well. They are still hunting but I do not even know under which name. I will see if I can find an email address for you. I enjoyed working with him a bunch and we never had any problems.
